Welcome!

We, the community of the Walsh Memorial Newman Center, witness the presence of Christ by our hospitality, respect and love for all.  We seek to follow the example of Christ through our love for others, service to those in need, and worship of God.  

This summer we've been busy making plans and getting stuff done!  We have many great events and activities planned for the coming year, including: Retreats, Service Opportunities, T.U.C. (Theology UnCovered, a WEEKLY evening of music, teaching and fellowship), Parties and more!

WELCOME WEEK Schedule:

Tuesday (9/27) - 11-1pm SOU Club Fair (Stop by our table outside the Stevenson Union for some candy and information about Newman)

Tuesday (9/27) - 6pm Welcome BBQ (Everyone is welcome to join us for hamburgers grilled by Fr. Sean, our chaplain, and lots of other food!)

Wednesday (9/28) - 6pm Pizza and Scavenger Hunt (We'll try pizza from several of the town's pizza places to decide which is the best pie in town and have an all-over Ashland Scavenger Hunt - everyone is encouraged to come to this fun night to meet new friends and get to know Ashland a little bit better!!!)

Thursday (9/29) - 6pm Thursday Dinner (this is the first of our weekly Thursday Dinners!)

Thursday (9/29) - 7pm T.U.C. (Theology UnCovered, Fr. Sean is our guest speaker with an interactive talk on Controversial Catholic topics.  This is great for all Catholics, non-Catholics, questioning Catholics and everyone else too!  Bring your questions and learn something new!)

Friday (9/30) - 6pm Game Night (meet at Newman for volleyball on our court!)

CUP OF LIFE Fall Retreat, Oct. 7-9 - hosted by St. Thomas More Newman Center (at the University of Oregon) and open to SOU, RCC, and LCC students!  Register online at uonewman.org Or call Denell Woller for more information (541-708-2038).
